Once upon a time, when we were still a budding bakery in Truckee, CA, we ordered an oven. Now, this was not just any ordinary oven. This was a special oven that is only made in France.

The French Oven Builders were very happy to send us a special oven! They built it and put it on a ship (it was too heavy to travel by plane) and off it sailed on its way to California!

Somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean something happened - and the boat sank! So did our special oven...

No one was hurt, but the French Oven Builders had to build us a new special oven. They put it on another ship and off it sailed - on its way to California! It's been here ever since, happily baking delicious artisan breads in the mountains of Truckee, just for you!
