Country Walnut Batard

A truly artistic take on a traditional sourdough staple.  We use locally sourced Walnuts from beautiful Lake County, California combined with a long fermentation process to create a delicious and unique loaf unlike any other, with deep colors and amazing flavors.     I love the walnut loaf & buy it at SPD Market in Nevada City... I love it because it's dense & sour; not just another bread with some walnuts thrown it!.

    Just so you know...I love all of your breads...down to the last morsel, but your Country Walnut is a favorite that I treasure, given the rare occasion when I can reach for the final loaf on the shelf. I find this bread so very tempting, that addiction even comes to mind. Maybe it's the lure of the loaf's fabulous crust or maybe it's the scent of it. But once the knife segments this oblong ration of nourishment, the purplish crumb and texture prove so gratifying & complex a levain, it sends me to a blissful place. It doesn't last though...as my family is on to me. Once the first slice is schmeared with butter...the loaf is gone by end of day. So...Thanks for my only vice. And keep up your splendid work!
